This is really well written. It's the true story of nine women who escaped a Nazi death march. They were political prisoners, members of the French Resistance. It has conversations so it's probably actually historical fiction but it doesn't actually matter.

This is historical fiction about Catherine I of Russia. I thought this author did a great job. Marta is a young serf (soul) in the Baltic area. She catches a man's eye and is then sold to him for a piece of silver by her step mother. And that's just the beginning of a truly interesting life.

I love this new series. It may be my new favorite. Zoey is forced to save the world from evil. Again. And she does it in a very comedic fashion. She sort of reminds me of Tank Girl.

😳😳😳😳😳

This book is awesome. I love when I don't have everything figured out before the end. This author definitely delivers every time.

Molly runs out of gas during a storm on the anniversary of her youngest child's death. And then she vanishes.

This book is so good. I sort of started skimming toward the end because I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen.

Maddy moves back to India, falls in love, and then WWI happens. I don't want to spoil it for you. I definitely recommend this.

TheAromaofBooks Oh this one sounds lovely, and I love that cover!! Also, I've definitely been known to read the end of a book so that I can slow down and enjoy the middle. 😂 4y

Pride of Eden: A Novel | Taylor Brown

Taylor Brown is a gifted author. He crafts unique, fully developed characters and creates beautiful, evocative prose. We all have access to the same words, but he combines them in such a gorgeous way that it‘s difficult to put down his novels. Pride of Eden, out in March, is stunning, and well worth your time. 4 1/2 stars Thanks to #NetGalley and #StMartins

Mehso-so

The publisher sent me the first and third books in this rom-com series after I read/reviewed the second one. I‘ve decided (again) that I‘m just not a huge fan of contemporary love stories. While I liked the second one better (Smitten by the Brit...see a theme here?🤣), I‘m just not much into these shallow stories. The writing is fine. I just want to be more invested. “It‘s me, not you.” 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ 3/5⭐️ Better review on GR.

For a light-hearted, sexy romp this was fine...a case of best friends of best friends (maid of honor/best man) falling in love. I actually liked the male lead here more than the female, but then again I may be biased because I love all things British. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤫🤣🤣😂

As this was the second in series, I‘ll probably go back and read the first. 4/5⭐️ #romantsy

This book looks like it fits perfectly within my current quest to understand Trump supporters and the rise of Trumpism in America: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/brian-alexander/glass-house-economy/ #StMartins

JacquelynLovesYou There's a book i really want to read by Michael Kimmel, called Angry White Men. Also, Joan Walsh's What's the Matter with White People. Have yiu read either? 8y
elaine_page82 Have you read Hillbilly Elegy? I read that one for exactly this reason. 8y
BookishMarginalia @Zelma @JacquelynLovesYou Thanks for the recommendations -- I'll be looking for those! @elaine_page82 Yes, I read it. I found it interesting and useful, though I thought the author generalized too much from his experience to make pronouncements. The book is strongest when focused on his own life and experiences. 8y
