The Answer Is No | Fredrik Backman, Elizabeth DeNoma (Translator)

A good story, about an introvert being dragged into interactions with his neighbors. Lucas loves his life, but when the apartment board wants him to get involved, it all goes to hell. Not a whole lot of action but a lot of introspection. Parts were funny, especially the way he solves his problems at the end.

BooksandCoffee4Me I‘ve had this on my tbr list simply because it keeps appearing on my”Recommended for You” lists. Now that you‘ve described what it‘s about, I‘m moving it to the top of the list. 👍 3d

I didn‘t read this entire book which is why I don‘t feel comfortable putting a rating for the book but I did read the novella that is part of the All the King‘s Men series by Kennedy Ryan. It‘s taken me forever to get my hands on this and I‘m so freaking happy I did. I loved it so much and it brought just as many feelings as the first two books did.

A nice paranormal short story. The ending was predictable but I still enjoyed reading it. Martin was a likable character.

Low pick, only because I do love the Finley Donovan series. The story sets up how Vero meets Finley & her amateur sleuthing skills. If you‘re a FD fan then you might enjoy it. It‘s super short, a little over 2 hours on audio.

This is the Veronica Ruiz origin story of sorts. I don‘t know that it really adds much to the series, but it‘s a light, quick, entertaining read. I didn‘t love the audiobook narrator, though, and I‘m glad the novels are narrated by someone else.

It was a really quick story. Of course, crazy, rich people teach this cat to talk, then when he doesn‘t care about their posturing and says what he wants (basically acts like a cat that can talk), they plan his assassination. Sounds like crazy, rich people everywhere, making this a lovely commentary on everything that is wrong with the upper class.

I‘ve always wanted to read this, since the first time I read For Real. Clearly, it is time.

Murderbot #0.5 a short story about before Murderbots first adventure (All systems red).

Only 9 pages, but a great little intro to the tone of this funny science fiction series. Available free on Wired!

The Forester's Daughter | Claire Keegan

I continue to love the writing of Claire Keegan and this short volume did not disappoint. It is the story of a disconnected farming family and the secrets that are upended after a series of unexpected events. I don‘t want to say too much to give it away, but again - Keegan‘s masterful at giving voice to the emotions of those working families who are often viewed as stern or lacking in emotion.
