It‘s not unexpected for a book set in #Paris during WW2 to have a #sadending but to say more would be a spoiler. #aboutabook
Oh my gosh! This book doesn't have a sad ending, per se, but I wouldn't call it a happy one. There's one part about a friend that -- if you've read it you know which part I mean -- truly broke my heart. We always wonder if we'd done something different what the outcome would be; but, as Mr. Ferris says, “You can if things until you go crazy.“ As someone with an anxiety disorder, this is my daily struggle. #lmpbc #groupq #sadending #marchmadness

At times I question my love of WWII historical fiction as by nature of the horrors of war, you rarely find one without a #sadending for at least one character. #MarchMadness The #SadEnding I‘m referring to is about Jack himself rather than the books. Was it Catholic guilt, alcoholism, writers block ? He died in 1969 .While Burroughs & Ginsberg rolled with times & remained creative, Jack denied that the Beats lead to the Hippies , struggled with creativity & Falstaff beer. There is a Firing Line on youtube with Ed Sanders ,Jack , & William F.Buckley .It‘s weird, sad but Jack has a moment of something.👇
