Reread time. Society is collapsing under the weight of its own contradictions—economic, social, and environmental. Individuals should begin organizing outside the state. This a blueprint for revolutionary action. Yesterday protest went well. We need to keep at it. We need to do more.

1. Mostly between anxiety & despair.

2. I don‘t have any that I come back to but know this: You are not alone! Whatever you‘re struggling with trying to cope with life on Hellhole #47 you are not alone. We are not alone.

This Country belongs to you, to me, to US, not Hellbound #47. To OUR history & traditions, both the good & the bad.

To US. It‘ll always be what we have the grace to make of it together, going forward.

My #Roll100 books for April. 🎲 24 and 🎲 36 are pending library holds. 🎲 16 is probably going to be purchased since it‘s not at any library branches or libby.

@PuddleJumper

PuddleJumper Library holds are so unpredictable. I've had one on hold since Christmas 1mo
SconsinBookyBadger @PuddleJumper my brick & mortar library is quick on interloans, libby on the hand is slow pace even with available soon ebooks or audio 🐌 1mo

This book is amazing! Picture books are a great opportunity for talking about injustice, but few of them bring up the topic of murder. This is really a middle grade book. The illustrations are amazing. But I love seeing the kids faces when I tell them that when I wake a little girl, I was not allowed to wear pants at school, and I'm not even that old! I also describe myself as having brown hair, so...

I loved this part. So much for public happiness. Now those in power think happiness is frivolous and wasteful because it doesn‘t make any of them money.

kspenmoll This is another wonderful thought provoking quote. 2mo
GingerAntics @kspenmoll for all the founding father worship conservatives have become known for, this would be radical to them. Then again, let‘s be honest, the founding fathers were WAY more radical than most conservatives will admit (if they even know). 2mo

Amazing. A look at the current state of rebellion under the Islamic regime of Iran, following the cruel murder of a young woman by morality police because her headscarf wasn‘t worn perfectly.

This is basically a history about French chaos and Berthe Morisot with a bit of Manet. She's an icon and I'm glad I took a break from (paused) my fantasy trend to give her some of my headspace.

Today is the anniversary of the first abolition of slavery in France, unanimously declared on the 4th of February 1794 (16 pluviôse an II) by the Convention during the French Revolution, before being rescinded a few years later by Napoléon. I would have liked more details to be included in the tagged book, but Eric Hazan makes it clear that the abolition was imposed by Haitian slaves rather than gifted magnanimously from mainland France, so👍

Dilara Portrait of Jean-Baptiste Belley, representative for Haiti in the French Convention, by Anne-Louis Girodet de Roussy-Trioson, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons. As a free black man, he was able to be elected as a representative for Haiti in 1793, and he participated in writing the abolition decree in 1794. (edited) 3mo
