Wonderful book 🥰 A quick, funny read with many good quotes. A heartwarming story about animals. I like the way it describes human emotions and nature in the perceptive of a Gorilla. It will be a good book to read with kids. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I am not sure what to read for August prompt. To have people leave you alone?? Suggestions please ...
I generally don't like books with animal narrators so I picked one that is aimed at middle graders and it was excellent. It's based on real wolf who traveled 1000 miles through Oregon and finally found a mate. It delivers a whole range of emotions from joy to sadness, but ultimately it's a story of perseverance. #ReadWithMrBook #NarratedbyAnimal @MrBook

What a lovely book (that I didn‘t even know existed!) about a Spaniel named Flush, and the trials and tribulations of his life spent with, first, Elizabeth Barrett [Browning], and then with both she and her husband, Robert Browning. I found myself sympathizing rather too much with Flush‘s (sometimes) sadness, so evocative is the writing of Woolf. When Flush is taken from his country life with Miss Mitford and ⬇️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So I had never read this classic before. I‘m really glad I finally got the chance. I didn‘t think I was going to like it but I was pleasantly surprised. It is obviously about Stalinism, but I found striking resemblances to some situations going on in our country. Still an extremely relevant book. And it has a very striking ending. I read this for the August #readwithmrbook prompt #narratedbyanimal
What does the fox say? 🦊 ‘If you want your stories to end happy, try being nicer.‘
A short novella narrated by a fox that broke my heart. We humans are awful!

This was a thoughtful, delightful read - with Enzo the dog reminding us to never give up, savor the moment. Let go of what brings you down and enjoy life. The last bit will have you crying, even if you‘re not a dog lover.

I‘m not sure I understand this book. It‘s the story of a mother and her son, born in #Kosovo, fled to Finland, thinking of Kosovo. What they share is her husband, his father and his impact on their lives. It‘s a story about outcasts, about not belonging, about suffering and abandonment. And of course there are a cat (a racist boyfriend) and a boa constrictorp. Does it sound confusing? It is!

- Not a bad week... Some moving James Baldwin, a sad short story and a very British rom-com of sorts ( i.e. less romance, more friendship and community which felt good right now!)
- Just started Lily & the Octopus and I don‘t need a 🔮to see some #uglycrying in my future! 😭 I love how Lily seems to YELL! EVERYTHING! EXCITEDLY!
- Hoping for ‘Exciting Times‘ to bring the Sally Rooney vibes I‘m looking for.... 🤞
A sweet story of a search-and-rescue dog named Ellie. The story follows how she was trained when she was a puppy till her retirement. Throughout her career with the police force, she went on many missions, & adopted by different dog handlers. Ellie realised not only missing persons or injured victims need rescuing, sometimes her handlers also need saving. Some great topics for discussions for middle grade readers.
