Another on audio. A quick read fortunately because I really disliked it. Not the main character although he wants me to but the time I spent listening to the same story from different sides. About a murder at a Greek island where seven annoying people have gathered from London to work some things out.
Don‘t bother reading it I‘d say.
I certainly wasn‘t sure what to expect with this novel. It found it to be an interesting and engaging story. Gus, Mac and Theo were the main characters. Gus was an attorney, Mac a PI and Theo was a budding writer. There were many twists and turns, including a trip from Lawrence Kansas to Australia and back. Murders happened and scandals were running rampant. There wasn‘t any time when things stood still. A medium paced tale. 4/5
This started off strong but got so annoying in the second half that I wished they'd all just jump off a cliff.
Another fantastic read from Thomas King! Love this series. It‘s fascinating to me how Thumps is such a careful and deliberate person, yet the mystery is fast-paced and moves in leaps and bounds. Dragged reluctantly into another murder, Thumps is faced with ghosts from his past. It‘s a great mystery, with plenty of questions in the air, and just enough going on to keep you guessing without being frustrating. I‘ll keep on with Thumps for sure.
Wow what a great book! Really keeps you guessing. It was a little slow at the start but then I couldn‘t put the book down.
I‘m enjoying spending time with Thumps DreadfulWater again — it‘s been a while, and I‘d forgotten the dry, sardonic humour. Just a little ways into it, but I foresee a lot of twists and turns…
Another day, another Freida.
I did guess both twists in this, but it was still an entertaining read.
