#FallIntoBooks Day 2: #BookRainbow - I featured this book for our #MentallyYours reading theme a few months back - a rollercoaster portrayal of the rainbows and raging storms of what it's like to suffer from a mood disorder. Love the rainbow 🌈 in the book cover too.

I think I've had enough of miserable contemporary realistic fiction, I need me some fantasy break. The world is too much with us, and it is too noisy, misguided, and utterly exhausting. I hope this one will prove to be a refreshing escape.

Maike Perfect choice for that. I just finished book three and it was so good. The series is really wonderful. 8y
magictoyshop My usual choice for a break (which i'll be needing soon) is usually chick lit 😛 you're so much more evolved than i am! 😂😂😂 8y
GatheringBooks @Maike i deliberately chose a fantasy series where all books in the series are published (plus i was sent a copy of the three books in this series for review). i don't think i can wait for a book series installment that is not out yet. ;) 8y

GatheringBooks @magictoyshop oh i sincerely doubt it! fantasy is simply my go-to lit when i want to escape from the "real" world. i do enjoy chick lit too. i remember devouring jude deveraux at one point. another go-to escape for me is stephen king's utterly dark novels. hehehhe. 8y
Maike @GatheringBooks I often manage to start an unfinished series and it's wrecking my nerves 🙈😅 8y
KCorter That's why I have started reading through Robin Hobb! I try to stay engaged in current events through my reading choices, and my book club keeps me on track in that respect. The real world is scary and exhausting though. SciFi/Fantasy is my escape. 8y
Chachic Yay, #bookanddinner! I hope you love this one, it's a favorite read for me last year. I need to start reading the third book, wala pa lang time. 8y
GatheringBooks @Maike i was actually hoping to start patrick rothfuss' name of the wind, i have the first two novels, but i know that the series isn't over yet, so am skipping em for the meanwhile til all books are out. been bitten by george rr martin hard. learned my lesson all too well. 8y
GatheringBooks @KCorter i know what you mean. GatheringBooks has a #mentallyyours reading theme til end of april and it is great but emotionally exhausting too. this book is proving to be my panacea. 8y
GatheringBooks @Chachic i raced through first three chapters while waiting for beauty and the beast to begin earlier. enjoying it so far. i am glad that the author is skilful enough to ease the reader into the world without being needlessly overwhelming with the worldbuilding aspect of it. 8y
Chachic Agree, this series is beautifully written. I tried one od her YA titles and wasn't a big fan of it. 8y
GatheringBooks @Chachic ooh! i didn't know there was another apart from this series. :) 8y
Chachic Oh she's written a lot of books, but this series is her most well-known. 8y

Second British novel that I know of that explores how it is like to parent a child with autism spectrum disorder, as told from a father's perspective. First one I shared was Keith Stuart's "A Boy Made of Blocks." For our #MentallyYours reading theme at GatheringBooks.org til end of April.

Sometimes advance review copies look like these (see left), but I don't mind - because, hey, free books! Plus the entire premise of this novel-in-verse fits into our #mentallyyours reading theme quite beautifully.

BookishMe Local library doesn't seem to have her books 8y
GatheringBooks @BookishMe awww. that's too bad. it's a good novel-in-verse. halfway through. 8y
