Going into a middle grade novel after taking a small break from my “not-so-thrilling” thriller I‘m reading 🙃

I enjoyed this story of a JH aged competitive girls‘ soccer team. The relationship between the sisters who rely on each other when Mom is busy or distracted by a new boyfriend was fantastic, and the team relationships felt very relatable as well. I did feel like things wrapped up a bit too easily at the end without as much detail as I would have liked, but that‘s my adult opinion.

4.25/5 I loved this book! I was really disappointed at the ending (no spoilers) but I‘m looking forward to the next book in the series!

I've been having a lot of bad days lately and today was no exception. In the past, I would console myself with a trip to the bookstore where I would spend way too much money. Since I'm doing #ShelfLove this year and have an extremely limited budget, I decided to go to the library instead and check out more books than I can get through in 2 weeks (I also have 2 other books checked out already). It was just as comforting, but 100% free.

Jen2 Love all of these books!!!! 3d
dabbe Here's hoping you have fabulous days starting now. 🩶🩷🩶 3d
Bookzombie I hope your days get better. 💕 I always feel better after spending time shopping the library shelves, and then bringing home a stack I will renew every chance I get and possibly never even read. 😁 3d
Fortifiedbybooks @dabbe and @Bookzombie thank you! I have been feeling a tad bit better since binging The Tea Dragon Society and Goblin Mode. Since most of the upheaval has been due to my job, and it's now the weekend, I think I'll be OK with a bit more bookish therapy. Perhaps I can store up the good feelings from reading cozy books so things don't bother me so much come Monday. 18h

Overall, I loved Race to the Sun. The characters were vibrant and fun. I loved learning about the Twin Heroes and the Trials. It was an amazing journey, and I was disappointed when it ended with a proper wrap-up. There were lots of unanswered questions. However, I still gave it 5 stars because I loved it so much. (I am catching up on January books)

I read this with my 9 year old. We both loved the story. We watched the movie over the weekend (a big thumbs up from the 9 & even the 15 year old). I liked the movie but liked the book more. We have borrowed the next 2 books from the library to continue following Roz‘s adventures.

The tagged book was a heartwarming tale of adventure and friendship. I adored the idea of bison being the wise ones everyone reported to in the park.

A big thank you to @MeganAnn for an outstanding #auldlangspine list. I read 6 books off her list so far and plan to keep going. I have full confidence the rest of the list will not disappoint.

Thank you very much @monalyisha for hosting and organizing #auldlangspine!

MeganAnn This book was such a fun, unique middle grade read. It felt like a modern classic. As an artist, I especially loved the artwork that was included and the way the illustrator added Johannes to the landscapes so perfectly it felt like he must have always been there. This one came from last year‘s #auldlandspine list from @Karisimo 7d
MeganAnn I‘ve so enjoyed seeing your reviews and I‘m delighted that you‘ve like the books you have read so far! Even more so that you intend to continue reading from my list. 🎉💙 7d
monalyisha 6 books is an accomplishment to celebrate! Congrats on a month well-done! 🥳 7d

Ahh! This was cute! Not quite what I was expecting coming from what I‘d seen on insta - but a lovely story aimed at a middle grade audience.
