so-soRead for #ReadingWomenChallenge #LambdaLiteraryAwardWinner. I had NO idea what this was going in. Mostly, these weren‘t for me. A few of the stories I enjoyed despite their strangeness. a few of them were just WAY TOO weird.. and a couple of them I just didn‘t have a freaking clue what was happening. She definitely writes in a way that intentionally keeps the reader off balance.. but some of them were just 😒.
pickThis book is out of control amazing. When I say there are twists, there are TWISTS. The setting and writing are beyond. Sarah Waters has yet to disappoint me, so why haven't I read her entire catalog yet?!

so-soThe main thread is life, love/romance and exploring sex between women in 1890‘s. What I liked about this story is setting. Late Victorian London is depicted in a very vivid and colorful, vibrant manner. What I didn‘t like is a little frivolous depiction of a main protagonist - Nancy. She is without any deeper characterization, and because of that - her responses in a different situations are quite unconvincing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
