1. Recently I started working at my home library 6 hours a week, my favorite recent moment is “peeking behind the curtain” at how holds work 🤯
2. The library first, but then BOTM, Amazon, side trips on day trips to little bookstores or local libraries.
3. Tagged and Never Lie by Frieda McFadden
@Eggs Thanks for the tag @Kshakal And since I‘m late, tagging everyone else who is late to the party. 🎉
There are so many great #JudiDench roles, but I think one of her greatest was as Sally Bowles in the original London production of Cabaret. And if you're interested in a slice of life in Weimar Berlin, the setting of the musical, look no further than the tagged book, which one reviewer called, "an unsparing account of a society in a freefall." #Movie2BookRecs #seemoretheatre @Klou
I think that Elizabethan actors had an instinctive apprehension of all this. They didn‘t have some of the distractions that we have in our day. They depended more than we do on the spoken word. It was like food, and they probably used words much more sensually, almost eating words.

Spiked cider, John Barton, and a little background Beethoven for a very on-brand evening in 🎻🥃🎭 #shakespeare #phdlife
1. Dame Judi Dench. So much character and class. I was lucky to be able to see her on stage on London years ago, and she just keeps getting better with age.
2. My work hours vary, and I'm chronically sleep deprived 😴
3. True crime
4. Toaster oven
5. The library where I work is less than 10 min. drive from my house 🙂 And the nearest bookstore is about 20 min. away & it's not very good (B&N) 😕

Since I just watched some "As Time Goes By", I figured I'd give Dame Judi's first memoir, "Scenes from My Life" (not in the database) a whirl.
