I finally read Crow and Grief together and it was a good experience! I liked getting to know the almost mythical Crow through Hughes' poems and seeing Crow "in action" in Grief is the thing with feathers.
I liked a lot of the poems, especially the ones about creation and Crow. They were dark and twisted, and I am here for that!

rubyslippersreads ❤️ your bookmark! 8y
TrishB I did Crow for A level and didn't like it (I was too into Sylvia at the time!) I have since revisited and really appreciate them now. 8y
Kalalalatja @TrishB I haven't read anything by Sylvia Plath yet, but I really need to change that! 8y
Kalalalatja @rubyslippersreads BookDepository at it's finest! 👌 8y
TrishB Ariel is a masterpiece - fully recommend! 8y

I have started this review so many times, but I just don't know what to write - my mind is still blown by this book! The characters are definitely the best part of this little gem. I loved the diversity and it was just so much fun! And now I feel like I am rambling a bit, so I am just gonna stop now 😄

A sure sign of me liking a book is when I stay up past my bedtime to finish it and wake up with it still beside me. 👌 I felt this book was full of a kind of desperation, which mirrored itself in my reading of the book. I was desperate to know what happened next, and the pages just kept turning. I am amazed that this is a debut novel, and I can't wait to see what Dennis-Benn will write in the future!

Cinfhen Great review, catchy cover! 8y
LadyPotterHead What's it about? 8y
Kalalalatja @MyBookZleeves mainly about two sisters living in Jamaica. The older is doing everything she can to make life better for her little sister, and the younger is trying to find her own way in the world. But that is really just the very basic. It is also about love, prejudices, survival, family and lots of other things! 😊 8y

elkeOriginal I just can't get enough of your cover! What a delight to see alternate editions 😍 8y
merelybookish This book was really good! I went in with low expectations (the US cover makes it look light/beachy) but then I became so wrapped up in those flaw characters. 8y
BooksForEmpathy Loved this book! And your cover is 😍😍😍. 8y
Kalalalatja @elkeo @BooksForEmpathy I am loving all the cover appreciation 😍 8y
Kalalalatja @merelybookish I didn't really know what to expect, but I am glad I didn't have any expectations. This is the kinda book that hits you when you are least prepared for it! 8y

I didn't want to go to sleep yesterday, but with only five hours of sleep the day before, I just couldn't stay awake and continue this wonderful book. But today I have slept for about 10 hours, and I am so ready to hop into this book again, and I am not coming out for air until I have finished it!

Kalalalatja @Bookgirl sounds like I have a good read ahead of me! @Centique I have heard, that you should avoid spoilers at all cost, so I haven't read anything about it 👍 8y
Kalalalatja @Cinfhen I hope so! I have heard so many good things about all of them, so the only problem is where to start 😄 8y
