An interesting historical fiction that explores the realities of Children's Homes in the states. The book seemed to trivialize the horrors that many children experienced paired with a story that uses this story to create a love story. #bookclubreads #firstreadof2019

I think this may be my last post for 2018...I‘ve narrowed down my choices for #FirstReadOf2019 🤩Any thoughts on which book I should read first??? Have you chosen your #FirstReadOf2019 ?!?!❤️

Christine11 The Silence Of The Girls was a little different to what I was expecting but it was really good! 😊 6y
Cinfhen I‘m afraid after LOVING Song of Achilles and Circe I might be disappointed @Christine11 6y
PNWBookseller85 Just started reading Helen Oyeyemi‘s newest book that comes out in March and I‘m loving it. I haven‘t read of her others...yet. 6y

Christine11 @Cinfhen I know what you mean - they are two of my favourites and I was expecting this to be similar which it wasn‘t really. It was good though - just in a different way than I thought! It was really interesting reading about Troy through a woman‘s experience. 😊💛 6y
Owlizabeth I love love love Boy, Snow, Bird 6y
saresmoore Boy, Snow, Bird because I just started reading it and that cover is gorgeous! 6y
JillR I started mine early 😆. Got some unexpected reading time today so started the tagged book - a new author for me and a #blameitonlitsy 6y
CoffeeAndABook I don‘t know any of those books so I can‘t help you out there. They all look interesting though and Snow Bird‘s cover is most attractive 🤩 I‘m also starting to wonder which book to start 2019 off with... Am trying not to overthink it though. 🤓 Have a happy new Year‘s celebration 🥂🍾 6y

The Call | Peadar O'Guilin

I think I missed a season or two of the #Booked2018 Challenge, but I did manage most of the last section!

Underdog Hero - The Call
Features a holiday - The Halloween Tree (and, not pictured, but I just finished Krampus by Brom as well!)
New in 2018 - The Silence of the Girls
MC with invisible illness - For a Muse of Fire
Spooky Read - 14

I also read a few Miss Marple books (MC over 70), but I believe I read she was closer to 65? 🤷‍♀️

Cinfhen I‘m happy to count Miss Marple 😂😂and I‘m thinking The silence of Girls might be my #FirstReadOf2019 ...I‘ve narrowed it down to 4 choices (edited) 6y
JPeterson @Cinfhen Oh, good! I felt like every book I read, the main character never broke 65 years old. 😂🤣 Enjoy Silence of the Girls! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Great job! 6y
