This series has potential, if only the hapless protagonist took herself less seriously. It tries hard to be a fun, light mystery a la Janet Evanovich, but this is no Stephanie Plum. #DetectiveByDay

I‘m taking an Adult Popular Literature class and I have to read titles across various genres. This is my mystery choice, mainly because I had already started it and never finished! It‘s a Cozy Mystery despite being set in a large city. Somehow the author makes it feel quaint. It‘s hard to find a cozy mystery with a Black lead character so I‘m excited to finish #CozyMystery #DetectiveByDay #Mysteries
