Pickpick

The first book I finished for this year‘s #WinterGames

This is my favorite Gamache book. It‘s set at Christmas and all the pieces come together so beautifully.

I think this is the 6th time I‘ve read this.

Pickpick

Little Women told mostly through the eyes of Mr. March. A friend recommended this knowing Little Women is a favorite, not knowing that I really can‘t stand Mr March. BUT this book did such a great job of explaining why he was such a pompous know it all without making him sympathetic. I loved it. Warning this book largely takes place in the south during the Civil War so it‘s not a gentle book.

Ruthiella I liked this one a lot too for its perspective. 6mo

TheAromaofBooks Intriguing. I also find Mr. March aggravating (as I do his real-life counterpart of Mr. Alcott lol) so this sounds interesting. 6mo
Bookwormjillk @TheAromaofBooks yeah I‘d have words for both of those guys 6mo
JenDR Read this book earlier in the year. Enjoyed it mostly because it was Little Women adjacent. Didn‘t really reimagine the original. I find it funny that out of all those writers during that time period in that area - Louisa May Alcott‘s Little book for girls has become the worldwide iconic classic. 6mo

Didn‘t realize this picture was so dark!

Covid brain is making it hard for me to read the novel I‘m working on so I spent the day watching baking shows and reading these short but lovely books. Covid is apparently making me emotional too because A Christmas Memory and The House Without A Christmas Tree both made me cry.

Eggbeater Big hugs to you! I hope it gets easier soon. 6mo

AnnCrystal How terrible. Stay rested. For me, years ago when I was out of it, I could only read comics and picture books. Seemed to help me. And of course, TV. May you be better soon 🙏. 6mo
