Probably a YA geared more to high school students, but still ... 🖤🧡🖤
My favorite book in the world. I love it SO much. I cannot tell you how many times I‘ve read this because it is an absolute gem, and my go-to novel if I want to read something. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. Disclaimer: The reading of this novel inevitably comes with many, MANY tears, shouts of, “Why?” “No!!!”, and the unavoidable 100% chance of falling in love with Augustus Waters.
Years ago I adored the bronze horseman and then tried others like Tully by the same author & just couldn‘t get into them , TGITS was a good story, the opening prologue is confusing and lots of characters so moments of head scratching “who is that ?” But it slowly becomes a page turner, she is an excellent writer but this is a whooper of a novel and could have done with being much shorter and better edited.
This is Lucy Grealy's beautifully written memoir about being diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma as a child and the innumerable chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and other treatments she endured growing up and into adulthood. It is a very sad story about the terrible hardships she endured, but the way she writes makes you want to keep reading.
