pickThis is a fun group of superheroes, and I‘m liking the story arc so far. Black Canary puts together a team with Starling, Katana, and Poison Ivy, and Batgirl joins too at times. Vol. 1 (first 7 issues) had them trying to find who is controlling people‘s minds and sometimes struggling to work together.
pickEnjoyed this origin story, but just also kept hearing the Arrow-verse versions of some characters, like the Canary. Not a bad thing!
pickThis is one of the pair of Crested Cara Caras that I often see around my neighborhood when I‘m out walking or driving. They‘re huge and so unusual looking I googled as soon as I saw him the first time. I was thrilled to hear about this book to learn more!
Cara Caras are among the smartest birds known, and also sassy and playful. They like solving puzzles and entertaining themselves with new things.
I recommend this for nature lovers 💕🦅🦖.

pickI saw #BirdsofPrey last night and I wanted more. I decided to start with Gail Simone‘s run although I know she wrote issues in the previous run that started in 1999. DC Universe is great for my catching up on oldies. I think having watched Arrow & Justice League animated series helped ease my transition to characters I otherwise wouldn‘t know and therefore care about much. I stan Barbara Gordon/Oracle/Batgirl because #Librarian. #DCComics #Comics

#Harvest - Gail Simone is the queen of writing creepy comic book villains, and one of her creepiest was Harvest, an urban legend come to life. Harvest was a vengeful spirit who could be summoned if someone shouted her name at the moon and she would drain the life of anything she touched, be it plants, animals, or humans. Scary stuff! 😱🎃👻

Barbara Gordon (whether she is Batgirl or Oracle) is one of my favorite comic book characters ever, so I love this cover featuring her surrounded by several other DC heroines! IMO, Gail Simone and Nicola Scott were the best writer/artist team to work on this series!
