Batgirl Vol. 1: The Batgirl of Burnside | Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart

Pickpick

I read this Batgirl series this week via Hoopla, and they were interesting. I liked how Black Canary was part of them and how some of the other characters became important in Barbara‘s life as well.

Murphy really probes the flaws in Batman's mission, especially the inevitable collateral damage, and explores what it would be like for Bruce to give up being Batman. Batman suits up for one final ride in a vintage '89 batmobile to stop Azrael, who serves as a foil for Batman throughout the story.

This Joker is more like Two Face. Murphy makes Harley a fully realized character, rather than just a sidekick, and she's got her own spinoff now.

Liatrek Just watched a YouTube video on this one. Looks so good. 3y

In this sequel to Batman: White Knight, Sean Murphy reimagines Azrael and the source of the Wayne family's fortune. The art is impeccable. Everything is drawn to look a but like it's from the 19th century.

Obviously, I couldn‘t pass this up when it showed up on a search at work. A new adaptation of a comic that lives rent-free in my head? Yup. Here for it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #thekillingjoke #christafaust #garyphillips #alanmoore #brianbolland #dccomics #batman #joker #barbaragordon #batgirl

Batgirl continues to be funny, touching, exciting and personal. It‘s a great achievement to continue to balance so many tones and maintain a coherent, believable narrative. Worth reading!

Enjoyed this origin story, but just also kept hearing the Arrow-verse versions of some characters, like the Canary. Not a bad thing!
