#Pemberlittens Look at these beautiful #Janeite books author and illustrator Julia Fry gifted me! We follow each other on Instagram but hadn't really engaged, other than a couple of times I commented on her posts. She messaged me after the fire saying she wanted to sent me her books. She autographed them and included the sweetest note. Note card is her design as well. So pretty! Lovely addition to my #AllThingsAusten shelf.

This contains not only the 12 Chapters of Sanditon but also fascinating essay about Jane and life in Regency period. Sea bathing isn't what you think it is.

I always find it hilarious when reading Biographies of Jane Austen that her stuffy Victorian nieces and nephews tried very hard to make her the Prim and Proper Auntie. She was far from it. Thus Sanditon wasn't actually published till 1925. It inspires me as an Auntie. 🤓

Much like Jane I am not a fan of Summer Heat. DO love the Summer Flowers like these Lisianthus. 'Lizzie's' (as I call them) take forever to start from seed. Here in Oklahoma I have to start seeds in greenhouse around first of the year. Payoff is big. Gorgeous cut flowers with long vase life. 💜💜💜💜💜

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that few Pride & Prejudice retellings are allowed precious space on my All Things Austen. bookshelf. This was Library borrow that I will definitely buy a Print Copy for my Forever Shelf. P & P is, I think the hardest Austen to modernize. Whole 'you must marry or starve in the hedgerows' doesn't work in our Western society. Soniah Kamal brilliantly makes it work in Pakistan. 🤓
