I worked as the Controller/CFO for 4.5 years at the local humane society and have seen over crowding. Millions of adoptable pets are euthanized for no only reason than lack of space. Please consider adopting your next fur baby. 💕🐾

Mitch I totally agree. We‘re just about to get our first dog - we tried all the shelters near to us but all had a policy of not rehoming a dog to a household with cats. We were so sad not to be able to rehome ☹️ 4y

AmyG I used to work in a shelter....in the cat section. I so agree with this. And @Mitch that‘s a real shame. Makes no sense to me. What can you do? 4y

Mitch @AmyG I know - we so wanted to give a dog it‘s second chance and thought having a blanket policy of not mixing cats and dogs made no sense. So we had to go to a breeder instead. We did end up setting up monthly donations though to all three shelters. 4y

TheSpineView @Mitch Not all shelters are that restrictive. Did you know you can rescue a dog or cat anywhere in the U.S. There are a group of pilots that fly pets needing a home just about anywhere. It is a non- profit call pilots N paws. There website is https://www.pilotsnpaws.org 4y

Cosmos_Moon_River I love all my little rescued furry friends, two kitties for about 10 years and our new 4 month old schnauzeranian, who was about to be surrendered to our local SPCA. He‘s such a sweetie, but our kitties are still a little upset. He keeps trying to make friends with them, but they‘re not so interested. 4y

TheDaysGoBy Totally agree! I always adopt from a shelter (also the reason I haven‘t had a kitten in years because I go for the adults knowing they have a harder time being adopted). I also encourage everyone I know to adopt too. I also wish more people would realize what a commitment bringing a pet into your home is so they don‘t end up abandoned in the first place 4y

The Berenstain Bears' New Kitten | Stan Berenstain, Jan Berenstain, Mike Berenstain

So last weekend we sadly lost our sweet boy Wicked. So today we decided to save a life at our local animal shelter and ADOPT! Meet Briar (name not 100% yet)!!! She is a precious 2 month old kitten that will hopefully fit right in with our crazy animal crew! She has been an amazing car rider and I‘m hopeful she will be a good snuggler while I read!
