Auggie Pullman is an ordinary kid with an extraordinary face. Starting middle school after being homeschooled, he struggles to be accepted but inspires others to choose kindness. This book is a good lesson to teach students about acceptance and kindness.

This book would be an awesome addition to a classroom library and would also make a good lesson for students about the importance of being kind another even when you look different.

Pickpick

I remember reading this book as a child and it was awesome to spend some time reading it again. I think this would be an awesome book to spend as a class reading just because the content of it is so impactful.

This book would make an excellent lesson on being unique and embracing each other‘s differences. I think it‘d be very good to include some social devotional development with this.

“'I liked the beautiful names and funny names you thought of for me,' she told the class. 'But I realized that I liked my name best, so I chose it again. Korean names mean something. Unhei means grace.'“
