This was such an amazing year for books, and I read a ton of wonderful one. I was able to narrow it down to the 20 best. #20Bestof2020 #20of2020

I loved this NF book that I added to my TBR following Holly‘s review @Hooked_on_books and thanks to @TrishB for stalking said TBR and sending me it as a pressie!
It‘s a subject I didn‘t know anything about - a security guard at the Atlanta Olympics who saved lives when he spotted a suspicious package, but was then pursued as the only suspect, leaving the actual bomber to wreak more destruction.
Definitely in my #20bestof2020 #NFedition
Essie plots her escape from her extremely religious family, who make all of their money through an ongoing TV show.
This novel felt really realistic to me, even though I have no direct experience of such things but based solely on the aforementioned TV shows. Although I guessed Essie‘s terrible ‘secret‘ early on, I was still entranced by the rest of the book. It might even have made my #20bestof2020 but then what would I take out?!

My #20BestOf2020 is actually only nine. Not nearly enough reading this year given that it‘s been...you know...2020. But still, these were really good and the best of what I did read. Several new to me authors and my favorite is tagged. These lists are really helping me get excited about my reading plans for the new year and it‘s nice to look toward to that.
