Mehso-so

Meh. This fell flat for me. I like a supernatural read but there were too many slick coincidences in this to uphold any kind of suspense. Onwards and upwards, first #bookspin of 2021 done!!

Pickpick

The first half of this novel had me confused. I was under the impression it was about a spirit and had nothing to do what so ever about a virus.. But then it started to come together it really impressed me! I feel a few things were left without answers though which disappointed me but nevertheless it was a fantastic read! I didn't expect what happened to Danny in the slightest! This would make an ace film as long as they don't change anything!

#ReadYourSign @Meaw_catlady prompt-Book with spirit color=Blue Tina lost her son in a school bus accident, she felt something was wrong in that accident. What she discovered sounds like what we are living with COVID-19, too similar😱1st part of book was so interesting followed by pure action. But I was not prepared to find ESP, maybe that's why it was a so-so reading for me. Last part so interesting due to the similarities with COVID-19👍 3⭐️

Jumped on the bandwagon to see what the future holds for us haha, slightly disappointed there isn't much you would get regarding the virus. But the book itself is very gripping. A great read for a mystery book lover.

I bet this book is popular right now. I did not know that Dean Koontz used a pseudonym but this one was originally publish with it as Leigh Nichols.

My mother got swept up in the hype about this book predicting COVID19, and since I've been trying my entire adult life to get her into reading, I couldn't not take advantage 🤷🏽‍♀️ I bought the book on audio for her and we're doing our first ever buddy read. I just hope it doesn't unhinge her conspiracy theory tendencies 😅
That said, I'm really into how the mystery is building! I don't read a lot of thrillers, but I'm digging this one.

Enchanted_Bibliophile My dad - also not a reader at all - wanted to know if I own the book and if he could borrow it during our 21 day lock down that will start tomorrow. Koontz out did himself and didn't even knew it. 5y
ShyBookOwl @Enchanted_Bibliophile Haha well it's a great excuse to get our parents to read. I'm all for it. 5y
Enchanted_Bibliophile We will make reads of them! 5y

He did not predict the coronavirus. When it was written in 1981, it was called Gorki-400 because it had been created in Russia. It was made to be used for biological warfare. It has a 100% mortality rate and only humans can carry it. It cannot live outside a host for more than a minute. Its incubation period is about 4 hours. Death is within 12 hours of contamination. It was changed to Wuhan-400 in 1989 toward the end of the Cold War.
