“It‘s not Death if you Refuse it.”

The Crow has been one of my top favorite films since I first watched it in the ‘90s. So glad I finally got around to reading the graphic novel. A little different from the film, but still a great story with some pretty cool artwork.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

BookishMadHatter It's my favorite movie and I just ordered the book tonight 1y
IamIamIam ❤️❤️❤️ My first graphic novel ever! I love this story so much! I just got a little Eric Draven Funko Pop figure this weekend! 1y

#12DaysofChristmas Day 4

Apparently 4 calling birds were actually 4 “colly” birds at one point. “Colly”birds were blackbirds so I give you The Crow. I didn‘t know this was originally a graphic novel in 1989. I feel like the movie was a big deal when it came out in 1994. I was in high school and remember seeing it in the theater. Now I want to hunt down the graphic novel.

SandyW Who knew? Thanks for the 🎄trivia! 7y
LibrarianRyan I knew I knew. It's awesome! 👍🏻🤓🎅🏼 7y
Bookzombie @SandyW 🙂 @LibrarianRyan It looks like my library has a copy so I put it on hold. 😄 7y

Hey! It‘s the night before Halloween aka Devil‘s Night aka the night The Crow takes place. This is one instance I can think of where I love the movie so much and yet I have no desire whatsoever to read the material that it‘s based on.

I‘m going to put it on and see how long I can remain conscious. G‘night all.

Texreader Yea that‘s a good sad movie. Haven‘t thought about that one in a long time. 7y
LibrarianRyan Love this movie!!! 7y
robinb I love this movie too!!! Visually it is stunning! 7y
TricksyTails I love the movie so much. It holds a special place in my heart. I've heard they might do a reboot with Jason Momoa. Nothing against him, but I really hope that doesn't happen. 7y
JazzFeathers I read The Crow when it first came out and LOVED it. The film is also good, but the graphic novel is much better, in my opinion 7y

Thanks for the tag @Simona 😘

For the #cult5 I had to go with books that I‘m not 100% sure are actually cult books, but they sound good to me!

The Amityville Horror - Jay Anson
The Crow - 🖤 James O‘Barr
We Have Always Lived in the Castle - Shirley Jackson
Dark Places - Gillian Flynn
Survivor - Chuck Palahniuk

I‘m tagging @inwhichHeikereadsharder @abigail_mom @Born.A.Reader and @BookwormAHN ❤️❤️❤️

BookwormAHN Good list. Thanks for the tag 🦄 7y
heikemarie So fun!! On it 💜 7y
heikemarie And I don‘t know what cult books are either so let‘s give it a whirl!! Good list! 7y

Painfully earnest, darkly poetic. The apex of all goth mainstays: pale skin, spiky hair, self-mutilation, joy division lyrics and a romantic view of death. Ultimately a revenge tale, told in a fractured, multi-art-style way.

I have discovered a love for graphic novels over the last couple years. Before 2015, I had read exactly one graphic novel. This one. Clear back in the 90s, because I loved the movie so much. I wish I hadn't stopped reading them for 20+ years because I really loved this one. But at least I'm reading them all the time now, right?! #graphicnovel #octphotochallenge

My sister gave me this. Wasn't expecting to get my heart ripped out so early on.
