A thoroughly enjoyable omnibus collection. The illustrations are black and white and the story is appropriate for kids yet entertaining enough for adults alike. Both volumes are available on #hoopla.

How to describe Castle Waiting? A fat graphic novel about an oddball group of medieval folks living together in an empty castle. It is everyday stuff in a fairytale setting. No huge saving-a-princess storyline, just varied small stories & backstories with a faint hint of ‘fairytale‘ about them. The cast are not all human, and the castle is filled with sprites & secret passages. The women are strong & funny and the art is super awesome! #24in48

I am experiencing that horrid situation when you are so tired you feel like you may be slightly dying, and yet cannot sleep.
So of course I pop out of bed exclaiming #BURGUNDY! Someone asked for burgundy in the #bookcolortag challenge!

Castle Waiting is a beautiful series with truly fantastic messages of acceptance, understanding, family, love, and respect. Medley‘s female characters are varied, interesting, and have real agency in the world they inhabit. And volume 2 does a much better job at pacing. Its one of my favorite series to date and I emphatically recommend it.

Volume 2 just as enjoyable as the first. I read somewhere online that likened this series to a feminist version of Chaucer's tales. I can totally see that. I look forward to many more stories in this world. I've heard Medley is currently working on volume 3 (happy news, indeed)!
