Really liked some of the stories at the beginning. Also absolutely loved the editors small essays in between stories. I think they have another collection that I will definitely be reading.

For the #ScarathlonSprint hosted by @Emilymdxn which worked out to 10 AM -12PM here, I read the full 120 minutes & finished the last 5 stories in the tagged book + 5 more in Other Terrors.

I liked this vampire anthology overall—some stories were stronger than others but I liked the diversity. It also had First Kill from Victoria Schwab which I watched on Netflix. 🧛🏻

For these 10 stories 400 pts + 2860 #ScarathlonWordSearch words + book in ⬇️

#scarathlon Photo Challenge Day 19: #graves

From First Kill: I never made it past the first couple episodes of this Netflix V.E. Schwab adaption, which is basically where the short story ends. I remember the graveyard fight in the story and show pretty well, though.

5feet.of.fury The series was a mess 😅 I wanted to like it, but I did not. 14mo

I know there‘s lots of VE Schwab fans here, anyone watching this?

TheBookWitchON Binged the whole show yesterday with my daughter. It's cute! 3y
Enchanted_Bibliophile I'm on Episode 4; taking it slow so it will last longer. 😉 3y
5feet.of.fury @TheBookWitchON @Enchanted_Bibliophile I finally finished! I wish they spent more time on the just the romance than the Fairmonts and other supernaturals. But I‘ll watch it if they make more. Very enjoyable. 3y
TheBookWitchON @5feet.of.fury I agree, it would have been great to see more of the girls. I do hope we get more though. 3y

I don‘t know what I was expecting when I added this book to my TBR, but it was not what I ended up reading. I guess I hadn‘t really thought about the fact that there are so many different styles and lore around vampires that all can be taken in so many directions. But, I also felt a little let down considering how amped up I got myself about the author selection (Samir‘s Ahmed, Julie Murphy, Dhonielle Clayton, AND Mark Oshiro!). ⬇️

Zoe-h ⬆️ Not the best collection I read, but not the worst. 4⭐️ 3y

I‘ve been really loving anthologies lately. Getting to sample new authors without doing a full book of each is awesome. These were creepy, funny, terrifying, and romantic all in one. Long audio but really well narrated. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So not the scariest book I've read, but darker & creepier than I expected, so it gets a gold star! Hooray for non-sparkly vampires! But for the record, I've read those too 😅 3) The original Jeepers Creepers is a damn good film! Classic creature feature camp with the perfect amount of creepy 4) Give me a dark vamp any day, but it's ghost stories that scare the bejeezus out of me 5) I may have coaster, mug, & journal addictions

This was the perfect October read to mosey through this month. It's a collection of short stories about vampires and each one rebels against the common stereotypes. There are badass female vampires, LGBTQ stories, slayers vs vampires, vampires with a disability, and more.

Tera66 I want to read this so bad! Im glad you liked it! 4y
Kaylamburson Do it!! And I enjoyed all the stories. I feel like some anthologies have weak stories, but these were all great. @Tera66 4y

Cuz I'm a book nerd, I scan the copyright page of books I read, and I noticed this from #VampiresNeverGetOld ? It's a little hard to see in the picture, but it says:

"The vampire's curse is loneliness. The book thief's life is far, far worse. Steal this book and may your soda always be flat, your ends always be split, your breath always be rank, and your food always be saltless."

Unless you missed the message, vampires are making a comback. If you don't want your vampires to sparkle, or just want a tiny bite 😉 then check out this collection of tales.
