Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, 3rd Edition
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, 3rd Edition | John Perkins
7 posts | 27 read | 12 to read
The riveting third edition of this New York Times bestselling title expands its focus to China, exposes corruption on an international scale, and offers much-needed solutions. Extensively updated, this edition features twelve new chapters, including a new introduction and conclusion. The book brings the story of economic hit men (EHMs) up-to-date and focuses on China's EHM strategy. EHMs are highly paid professionals who use development loans to cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars and force them to serve US interests. Former economic hit man John Perkins gives an insider view into this system. With a truly global perspective, this book offers powerful revelations on extremely timely elements, including the third economic hit man wave that is sweeping the world and the way China optimizes US EHM models to make them a more dominating force. China's strategy is even more dangerous since it's successful at enticing lower income nations. Perkins also reveals how we can transform what he calls a failing Death Economy into a Life Economy. He encourages China's leaders to apply the Confucian ideal of serving the family to the global community to end the EHM strategy. The book ultimately provides a source of hope and inspires readers to participate in a new era of global cooperation. Interesting insights into an aspect of US global finance that makes sense but is so below the surface that most don‘t pay attention or realize it‘s there.

Half tell all, half autobiography, “Confessions of an Economic Hitman” is a must read for anyone curious about the extent of what our government will do to achieve and maintain a status of the most powerful empire in the world. During his career as an “EHM”, John often finds himself in moral conflict over what his profession asks him to do. He writes about the details of his job, why he got out, and the people who inspired him along the way.

I wandered off my book challenge path again for this book. All I can is WOW! An interesting expose on corporatocracy! The author gives you much to think about as it pertains to companies and political and economic agendas. It will change the way you look at the American Empire. #thinkforyourself #thingsarentastheyseem #economics #politics

geodynamical_nonfiction My aunt told me about this book. I hope I read it. 7y
Smartypants @geodynamical I didn't realize until after I read this that there is also an updated version. It was profound to hear about the author's experience. Enjoy! 7y

An intriguing book highlighting the biographical account of a man as an economic hitman. I was very interested and hooked at the start but somehow after the mid part, I lost interest and could not keep up with the book. I hate leaving a book midway so somehow I kept on reading till the end.

There seems to be some doubt as to the authenticity of the book but regardless its a noteworthy book.

Peebie felt it would be good for me to get this now that I'm ghosting thrillers. I suspect her true motive is learning how to run the big cons. #catsoflitsty #ghostwritersinthestorm
