Loved this book! The first big reveal actually gave me chills it was so unexpected. The other big reveals weren't as surprising, but were still very good and well written. It's always fun reading a Kubica title.

8/8/24 read in 6 days! Full of surprises, twists and turns!! Would recommend for sure!
A twisty tale well done that has you questioning everyone‘s motives and leaves you surprised!
Several twists in this one. While I figured out a few, the others definitely surprised me. I‘m not sure where I would rank this amongst the other books I‘ve read by this author but that doesn‘t matter since she hasn‘t disappointed me yet.

Overall I liked this twisty domestic thriller, though I guessed one of the mysteries the other was a fun surprise. My big criticism is the main characters choices were often a bit stupid and I wanted to yell out loud a few times. Still a fun quick read. 3.5⭐️
#bookspin pick done!
Mary Kubica does not disappoint with this one!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

What captivated me from the start was Author skillful storytelling and her ability to create a sense of unease that lingered throughout the entire book. With each twist and turn, I found myself questioning the motives of every character, trying to piece together the puzzle before it was too late....

Maybe I'm reading too many thrillers...but I guessed every twist in this story, and there were several.
This was enjoyable and fast paced but had a little too much going on all at once.
The mystery surrounding a nurse's ICU patient intertwined with assaults on women happening while the assailant remains unknown feels like two stories in one making the book feel overstuffed and the MCs actions questionable.
This was good. Slow, but good.
Mary Kubica has yet to disappoint me with one of her psychological thrillers. I‘ve read a few of her books and each one of them sucks me in from the first page and there are so many twists and turns. This one was told in two parts and the twists were jaw dropping. I would rate it at 4 ⭐️!
This is the first time I've read this author, but she has a nice way of building suspense. I felt like I was actually in the story, feeling the strong emotions of the main character. I did have a lot of strong suspicions about certain things which ended up being true, so some of the twists didn't feel too surprising.

What a thrilling, suspenseful read!! I did have some of it figured out BUT I did not have it put together that way! Wow…loved it!!!😱

If you like a thriller that‘s twisty throughout, fairly fast-paced, and easily holds your interest, this could be the one for you. I was constantly trying to figure out the whats and the whys at play in this book. Some I figured out...and some I didn't see coming at all. The narration by Andi Arndt was very well performed.
Things are not going well for recent divorcee, Megan. She‘s an overworked critical care nurse raising a 16-yo daughter in an apartment by the L train. She‘s creeped out by a recent string of break-ins/rapes. She attends a divorce support group where she befriends an old HS classmate. That‘s a lot of lose threads and this author pulls them nicely into a tight story.
Great twists in this one! *Almost* as good as Local Woman Missing. I, personally, think she‘s a phenomenal author! 🤩
Another good one from Mary Kubica. I've read several of her books and enjoyed them. This one was good once you got beyond a certain point. It took a bit but when it took off it was edge of your seat thrills.

I‘m reading this. It started a bit slow but it‘s very good.
“Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom and working full time as an ICU nurse, when a patient named Caitlin arrives in her ward with a traumatic brain injury. They say she jumped from a bridge and plunged over twenty feet to the train tracks below. When a witness comes forward with new details about Caitlin‘s fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was Caitlin actually pushed and if so, by whom and why?”
This was a fun, quick thriller that I enjoyed reading! I did predict one twist early but another caught me completely off guard and was surprising enough to make me want to go back and re-read the beginning. The ending felt a bit rushed, and I'm not quite clear on why it happened the way it did, but I definitely enjoyed!
Can you really keep a secret or does someone else always know it too?
A divorced woman, an abused woman, and a woman in a coma.
Which one of those three will be the one saying that she‘s not sorry?
Another good, but slow burn by Mary Kubica with an oh my goodness, unbelievable surprise.

LOVE her books!!
Mary Kubica is just good! Idk what else to say about that.
This was a slow burn but completely worth it.
There were sooooo many twists. Each one a little better than the last. I liked the main character, Meghan and I was rooting for her. With the creepiness of a hospital and the dark Chicago streets, I felt like I was there. I felt like I was with Meghan. Which made the whole book even better.
Thank you NetGalley!
