The Sunlit Man
The Sunlit Man: A Cosmere Novel | Brandon Sanderson
11 posts | 8 read | 3 to read
From the #1 Kickstarter campaign of all time#1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson adds to his Cosmere universe shared by Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive with a new standalone novel that combines fantasy and science fiction. Illustrated by Ernanda Souza, Nabeste Zitro, and kudriaken. Running. Putting distance between himself and the relentless Night Brigade has been Nomads strategy for years. Staying one or two steps ahead of his pursuers by skipping through the Cosmere from one world to the next. But now, his powers too depleted to escape, Nomad finds himself trapped on Canticle, a planet that will kill anyone who doesnt keep moving. Fleeing the fires of a sunrise that melts the very stones, he is instantly caught up in the struggle between a heartless tyrant and the brave rebels who defy him. Failure means a quick death, incinerated by the sunor a lifetime as a mindless slave. Tormented by the consequences of his past, Nomad must fight not only for his survivalbut also for his very soul. Note from Brandon: I sincerely believe that books dont live until theyre read. While I would write even if no one were readingits who I amI thrive because I know the stories are being brought to life by all of you. In this, stories are a special kind of art, particularly when written down. Each of you will imagine this book, and its characters, a little differentlyyou will each put your own stamp on it, making it yours. I dont believe a story is quite finished until that has happeneduntil the dream in my head has become a reality (even if briefly) in yours. And so this book is yours, as they all are once you read them. Thank you so much for bringing life to my work, and to the Cosmere.

3✨The last book from the kickstarter that Sanderson did. Nomad the wanderer to me is someone who doesn‘t want to keep running from world to world, but he is trying to escape his past that keeps following him. He is a good soul because his current world he stops at proves to be inhabited by an enslaved people. Very well developed world that this author is really good with. Story line that has the reader wanting justice for those that are wronged.⬇️

Roary47 Unusual curse words. I enjoyed this, but not as much as Tress. #SeriesLove completed series! Ish… @Andrew65 @TheSpineView (edited) 6mo

After my Year of Sanderson (or maybe I should call it my Cosmyear) in 2023, it was lovely to start off my 2024 reads with a new one. Had a great time jumping back into an action-packed Cosmere book. BrandSand just really knows his stuff.

everlocalwest So happy you posted on Litsy again. So ashamed of you for typing BrandSand. So many feelings! 10mo
thevictoriousone @everlocalwest Finding ridiculous ways to say his name is one of my new favorite hobbies. I usually go for BrandoSando. BraSa. Branderson Sanderson. Brandish Sandish. 10mo
thevictoriousone Also I‘m gonna try to post about all my reads this year! Might do some summary posts about last year‘s reads too. 10mo

Fourth secret project.

It's a bit Mad Max meets the Cosmere. I fear I should have read some Stormlight books before reading this, at times it felt like I was missing background information.

Not my favourite of the secret projects.

2/5 Stars

Secret Project 4 of the year of the Sanderson. I really liked this one. Lots of action and some heartbreak too. Of the 4 secret projects I liked Tress best, then Sunlit Man, Yumi, and lastly the Frugal Wizard.

An action packed sci-fantasy adventure in the Cosmere universe. A fun read though a little messy, there were so points that felt like they needed editing. I did enjoy the characters and the very harrowing world. 4⭐️

I finally got my hands on The Sunlit Man which brings my year of Sanderson to a close.

I‘m a little ashamed to admit that I haven‘t read any of the Secret Projects yet. Which one was your favorite?

I received the final Brandon Sanderson Kickstarter Secret Project. As usual it came with a pin, bookmark, and sticker. But this time the book also has sprayed black edges. The black against the red is absolutely gorgeous.😍
