It‘s soooo good that I can‘t stop reading it! 🤷🏼 I am like “what‘s going to happen next?”. My heart is racing. On the other hand, when I‘m done with this book, then I‘m done with this family saga. What should I read next that would be similarish?

Crazeedi Oh my goodness, maybe I didnt read this whole series! I'll have to check!! 1y

June will be a sad month in one way - I will finish this family saga, as well as read the last unread book by Coben. Luckily there are many other great authors out there, but not sure anyone can fill these pairs of shoes. 🤷🏼🥹🙏🏼✍🏻

Book 7 and last in The Clifton Chronicles series. This was an awesome series. Great characters with lots of adventure and intrigue. I loved the ending. I hate to say goodbye to these characters. Though next up is another Archer book, the 1st in the William Warwick series. 4.5 ⭐️

With This Was a Man, book 7 of the Clifton Chronicles, it was time to say #goodbye to Harry Clifton and the associated characters in this excellent and highly addictive series. What a man he was. This book had me in tears and left me feeling bereaved for days! Not the best literary fiction ever, but boy did I love the series. A great storyteller. #👋 #emojinov

No one writes sweeping, epic, multi-generational family stories like Jeffrey Archer. This one did not disappoint. I will miss the Cliftons.

I know that the story of Cain & Abel is referred to often in literature, but this one made me smile. Jeffrey Archer fans will know that one of his first novels was "Kane & Abel".

britt_brooke I'm sooo jealous right now. 🤤💚 7y
Kalalalatja What is that deliciousness? 😱 7y
mom2bugnbee @Kalalalatja Must be strictly American? This is a funnel cake. You make the same type of dough that you use for donuts, then you pour it through a funnel (hence the name) in a random, squiggly pattern into hot oil & fry it. Then you add powdered sugar. Some will add other toppings like chocolate syrup or strawberries, but I like it just like this. 7y
Kalalalatja It looks so good! 🤤 I have heard about it from movies, but never seen it in Denmark 7y

A beautiful Southern summer evening, my Kindle, hubby by my side, and a jazz band. I think I'll add a funnel cake & make this a practically perfect evening.

britt_brooke I love everything about this post especially funnel cake. 💚 7y

Loved the whole 7 books of The Clifton Chronicles Series by Jeffrey Archer but the whole ending of this book was a real #Grabthekleenex moment, may the tears fall, and they did! Without creating a spoiler one of the earlier books in the series also had the same reaction. Not the highest quality fiction ever written, but so addictive and a #guiltypleasure

Went to Shell Beach today. Sounds of the ocean, a good book and an anti-gravity chair is all this girl needs. 🤓

DebReads4fun Beach therapy is the best! 8y
BooksForEmpathy Beautiful! Where is this beach? 8y
MaryAnn1 @BooksForEmpathy, Shell Beach is in California on the central coast. It was a stunning day. 😎 8y

Sad to see this series end. And I'm sure what Grace says is just what Archer was thinking about his own books.

My husband's grandpa passed away in early October from a short battle with cancer. He lived a full life with a big family, a job he loved and many many hobbies. Reading didn't become part of his life until these last couple of years when he started to slow down. And then he read and read and read. In the last 3-4 years, he read 320+ books and kept a journal! This Was a Man was the next book on his list to read. #bookvember

Blueberry What a special memento for your husband. Does your husband enjoy reading too? 8y
heidisreads @Blueberry He reads newspapers and local magazines more than books but I plan to keep this journal around for him when he's ready! 8y
librariankris @heidifk What a treasure 💕 8y
Posemn I was just going through the posts for This was a Man and saw this post about your Husbands Grandpa. I love the notebook and I love that he could turn to reading as he got older. I have old recipe cards from my husband's great aunt. These things are such personal and special treasures aren't they?! 8y
heidisreads @Posemn it is most certainly a treasure!! 8y
