Oof. You know when a book is too real? This novel is a snapshot of 2 queer couples spending the weekend in side by side cabins in rural Ontario. It's highly character and relationship driven, with a lot of authentic dyke processing, gender feels, very authentic (kinky) sex, and interrogation of disability. It took me a while to get the characters but after about half way through I was invested. Very thought-provoking! But also kinda depressing?
Omg, the dyke processing in this book is painfully authentic. #QueerBooks
Ajax is from Vancouver, visiting a lover in Toronto:
"Lake Ontario, Ajax keeping her lips pressed tight about the lake's basic wrongness (pretending it was an ocean)"
I feel so seen, this is exactly how I felt about the lakes in southern Ontario when I loved there!!
Also, don't you love how this cover is a geographic image but also a human body?

Picked up two very different books from the thrift store at in my hometown yesterday. I've heard great things about Lisa Kleypas but I don't know if this one is a good one to start with or not! Any suggestions for favourite Lisa Kleypas book?
The other is by a queer Vancouver author that I've had on my TBR for a while, so I was happy to find it used! #Romantsy

1. Harry Potter series
2. Not any more, but when I do, flowers
3. Not even sure, it's been awhile
4. J.K. Rowling, I've read everything but Casual Vacancy. I guess I should get on that!
@CSeydel
1. A Wrinkle in Time or The Outsiders
2. 🌷🌸🌹🌼💐
3. The ballet “Play”; am going to “Don Quixote” next Saturday
4. I thought I had read all of John Sandford but just discovered he co-wrote a sci-fi novel with another author. Does that really count? 😜. I aspire to read all of Stephen King (almost there!), Dickens, Shakespeare, and SO many others!!

1. Harry Potter
2. Nope. I don't garden.
3. There aren't many concerts and plays where I live so I haven't been to any.
4. Cassandra Clare or JK Rowling. I aspire to read their complete works.

Harry Potter series and Pippi Longstocking
No, and the vegetables and flowers are happy about that since I kill everything
I saw Ali Smith talk with Linn Ullman about Autumn last week
J. K. Rowling, Jane Austen and want to read Charles Dickens, the Brontes

📚 Probably the Sookie Stackhouse series
📚 The Morganville Vampire series. It wasn‘t bad, I think I just outgrew it.
📚 It depends on the book. Most books I pass on, either to my mother or donate to the library. Some books I decide to keep.
📚 I don‘t but I‘d really like to!!
#weekendchat @CSeydel
Longest, besides juvenile ones, Faye Kellerman‘s Decker/Lazarus
Gave up on Patricia Cornwall‘s Scarpetta series awhile back. I loved the early ones, hated the middle ones, gave up in the late teens
Depends on rereadability
Not right now and I miss it

Happy Friday Littens.
I am going away for the weekend. Thought I was done packing, but I've been informed that I cannot, in fact, ONLY pack books, colouring books and my ereader. Apparently I need to pack clothes, shoes and underwear too 🤷🏽♀️
Oh well, at least the hard part (choosing which books to take) is over ☺😋

Happy weekend, Littens. Hoping it's filled with lots of cozy reading time. ☺️
In the massage chair with some wine waiting for my highlights to process and nothing to do but read. It doesn't get much better!!
