The 2005 BBC miniseries starring Benedict Cumberbatch looks pretty good, too!

I've had an all-Benedict kind of day today with my migraine. I'm currently hooked on this series, To The Ends of The Earth. Has anyone read the books? I wonder how they compare to this adaptation.

LauraBrook @RadicalReader I know, right? The character he was listening to (drunkenly) blather on and freak out was one of my least favorites. Wouldn't have minded if he went overboard. @Nicohlay I know! I wonder how old he really was while filming, had to have been early 20s. 8y

julesG @LauraBrook Tons of make-up, perfect lighting,... A lot of actors play characters that are younger than their actual age - just think of all those YA actors. 8y

Today's #augustofpages prompt, "books and innocence", made me think of this trilogy by William Golding, told through the eyes of Edmund Talbot on his first sea voyage. His highly observant and yet highly self-un-aware entries, especially in the first volume (Rites of Passage) seem somewhat innocent to me, or at least innocent in the ways of the world.
