I also watched The Mothman Prophecies movie today & am halfway through the audiobook it‘s based on. I forgot how strange this movie is, I‘m not sure it makes much sense at the end, the book is a non fiction written by the journalist Richard Gere‘s character is based on but it‘s more about how he thinks UFOs are behind every paranormal event. 1. Stacked! I saw the movie years ago, and I find I‘m getting more interested in cryptozoology stuff.
2. Bear Lake is supposed to have a serpent like monster with short legs that consumes unsuspecting swimmers.
3. I think the official definition says no, but I‘m more interested in the supernatural/paranormal ones.

Okay. Just forget the Richard Gere film okay? This is definitely more! More strangeness! More eerie passages. Keel was in West Virginia in 1966 to document (supposedly) the Mothman sightings of that year, but what we get is a really odd and yet awesome mishmash of just UFO weirdness, Men in black, orbs, weirdass phone calls, Woody Derenberger and it just WORKS somehow! Read it!!!

So, I just rewatched the movie Mothman Prophecies (2002) and it's OK, watched it the first time when I was like 13, but it got me thinking of Mothman. I found this book via Google which is based on the same-ish events as the movie, but I've never read it.

Do you know of any Mothman books or other movies? Not necessarily a nonfiction-ish account like this one, but any.

I thought this book was extremely interesting. Strange encounters and sightings, interactions with bizarre characters and men in black, mysterious lights in the sky. I would definitely recommend this book to those who are interested in unexplained phenomena. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I feel that I should mention right away that my 4-star rating is based on the absolutely huge entertainment factor of this book, and it's unintentional hilarity. I do NOT believe in any of the bananapants crazytown bonkers stuff that goes down in this "nonfiction" book. But I loved every second of it.

This is probably Fox Mulder's favorite book. It actually reminded me of the very best X-Files episode of all time, Jose Chung's From Outer Space.

This book is super entertaining. I‘m imagining that it was written by Fox Mulder. 😂 “Somebody somewhere does not want us to understand the true nature of this phenomenon and its true purpose.”

Alternating between this and American Gods at the moment. I've always had a thing for the paranormal and the Mothman will forever by my favorite cryptid. John Keel paints a captivating picture of weird America. The concept of "tulpas" is especially fascinating. Tying it back into American Gods, it is similar to the thoughtform that allows the gods to exist.

Decided to follow up The Conjuring 2 with The Mothman Prophecies, one of my favourite creepy movies. Not as great: the book it's based on.
