This historical mystery was my only 5⭐️ of July.
This is 4th in a new favorite series featuring a strong, intrepid heroine, and even better, this one took place during a snowstorm house party lockdown…a favorite location of mine. 😉
Entertaining, smartly plotted and compelling characters made this an excellent read for me.

My goal for #Adventathon was to finish December‘s book club selections and then read holiday books that I had on my shelves and my TBR list. Mission accomplished!
This was a book club selection AND a holiday book. I think I liked it more than the rest of the members did, and I plan to read more by this author. If nothing else, I‘ll read the next in the series, which is conveniently scheduled for publication in 2024.

But not to worry, a clever heroine is on hand to assist her brother-in-law the magistrate, and they get to the bottom of the various crimes being committed. By the end of several days of unexpected guests, I know the hostess is saying anything but #letitsnow and is as anxious for them to leave as they are to go. #decemberdreams

pickThanks to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for this e-ARC in return for my honest review. This is my first Lily Adler and I had not realized this was part of a series. Thankfully it was well written that it can be read as a standalone with a blend of Poirot and Marple and a tinge of Sherlock Holmes. If you liked lady detective mystery during historical regency era, I would recommend this. Be forewarned that it has a tiny bit LGBT. My rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️
