My #PosedByTheBook choice for #Pigeon (I will have to do a day of yoga to catch up with the poses!)

When the pigeoners left Placid to follow the wild pigeon migration, Agatha left with them. Several days later, an unidentifiable body wearing her dress is returned to the town by the sheriff. Everyone assumes the body is Agatha. But her younger sister Georgie refuses to believe this, and sets out on a journey to find her.

I loved this gritty historical fiction. A Newbery Honor Book for readers of all ages. Well written and deftly told through the eyes of a young, unassuming heroine.

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed Georgie and a good portion of the book. Things went off the rails towards the end for me. I don‘t think everything in the last few chapters was necessary for the story. At the same time, some things were missing. It wasn‘t so much about unanswered questions. It was more that everything was almost too perfect and took Georgie and some others out of character. Also, Agatha is a jerk.

I‘ve been making masks on masks on masks. I lost count around 150. I‘m so glad that i can help my community during this time. Also grateful to have access to so many audiobooks on Libby. #wereinthistogether #neighborlydayforabeauty #pittsburghcares

Reminiscent of True Grit, with a compelling mystery and strong hope and an interesting setting. He pause button violations were annoying for he first 50 or so pages, but they dropped away and the mystery really picked up.

Clare-Dragonfly Pause button violations? 7y
TirzahPrice @Clare-Dragonfly When the author pauses in the middle of the present action to go on a long tangent or flashback. 7y

Fight my very irrational fear of storms with young adult literature and makeup. Two of my favorite things! 💄📚💋
