Kidnapping and dolls and creepiness. Not a bad horror book but not great writing.

On to the next one tonight. With a side of ice cream sandwich.
This book was absolutely amazing! It has strong writing and a plot that will haunt you and will have you turning the pages until the very end. And even after that, it will stick with you! Definitely a must read!
Ok, I wasn't getting along with City of Glass, so I decided to put it down until I was more in the mood ... I picked up this earlier on and I reckon I will have it finished by this evening!! Such a powerful and haunting read!
Wow. I found this intense and horrifying. Then I went to GR and saw that someone else says it's bland, badly written, and flat.
So yeah, sometimes I get sucked into what others think are bad books.
This was a quick read. I enjoyed it, although I had read books that tackles similar stories before (such as Room). I enjoyed that this book looked at a story involving kidnapping etc., but as written for young adults. I think that is what makes it different from other stories about young women who are kidnapped and then escape years later .
3.5/5 ⭐️since kidnapping terrifies me, I couldn't put this down until I knew what happened. Thank goodness it's a quick read, because it's pretty heavy throughout. There is one character attempt at comic relief, but it wasn't much. This is a coming of age story, of a girl who is learning to deal with being held captive for SIX YEARS and then finding herself back at home with her family. Morbidly interesting and heartbreaking.
This is such a good book. I really enjoyed it. The POV from Amy is very interesting. Thanks to Penguin Random House First to Read for the advance copy.
When Amy returns home, she can't tell her family what‘s happened to her. She can‘t tell them where she‘s been since she and her best friend, her cousin Dee, were kidnapped six years ago—who stole them from their families, or what‘s become of Dee. She has to stay silent because she's afraid of what might happen next, and she‘s desperate to protect her secrets at any cost.
#TBR 😱📚
Starting this one tonight in my Aldiko reader which I HATE using. I can't turn the page after adjusting the durn font 👿
