I woke up at 6am and read a bunch of essays about climate change penned around the last time that Trump was elected.
After that, I needed to settle in to my reading chair with something as bright, as comfy, and as colorful as humanly possible.

As we know from the movies, sometimes a young lady will never be a nun. I‘m rooting for Hermione and Alphonsus.
I really enjoyed this book and plan to read the sequel. And I would love to taste some of the Shoppe cookies.

Sr. Boniface is a gem and I loved her letters to Sr Emelda. A Pinterest search on orange peel boxes and I‘m compelled to make one! Artists have crafted marvelous little peg nuns and even a few priests. But alas, the Pinterest pipe cleaner people exist without perforce of clergy. …And can someone give me a ⭐️ if I correctly used perforce in a sentence. 🤣🤣
#NunLitQuarterly These books have been so interesting to read. Thank you @jlhammar
What a charming read! An epistolary novel, the reader discovers the good and the bad in a year at St. Winifreda‘s convent. I laughed out loud a few times and think this would make a wonderful TV series. A great pick for #NunLitQuarterly !
An epistolary novel, concerning the Sisters of St.Winifreda and their struggles with a crumbling bell tower, a rat infestation, and a leaking roof with no money to pay for repairs. Through kindness, prayer, ingenuity, good neighbors and some luck, the Sisters build a community while rebuilding their convent. A cheering and uplifting tale.

So nice and heartwarming. I‘ll be reaching for the sequel, The Power of Cake, when I next need my spirits lifted.

Just the sort of sweet, feel good and lightweight novel that I needed, after a rather long week. I very much enjoyed Sister B and her community (big C and little c). The ending felt a wee abrupt, but it just guaranteed that I'd immediately download the sequel, so I guess well-played Fran Smith?

This was an enjoyable lightweight read. I liked getting to know the village and nuns as they worked together to improve their lot all told through letters.
@jlhammar
This light and warm-hearted book was quite the change from The Forever War! The story of a group of nuns trying to save their old convent from being sold is told in a series of letters from Sister Boniface to another nun, Sister Emelda, who is working in South America. It‘s a lovely book and was just what I needed. #NunLitQuarterly
