I love WW2 books and I‘ve never heard of these women before. It was such a good read. I give it 5/5 stars!

Audio cooking today! It‘s my day off work today so, even though it‘s warmer today than it has been recently, I‘m making homemade chili! My husband has been begging me to make it since the first sign of fall was in the air.
I really like this audio book so far but have had a little trouble keeping up with the multiple characters since they aren‘t separated by chapters.

One of the last WWII books I am reviewing for our new WWII unit. This one is set in Phillipines and follows a number of nurses from different backgrounds.
THIS is exactly what I love about amazing historical fiction: it presents a new angle to history that we maybe don‘t know much about, we learn something while reading that possibly prompts us to look up more of the history behind it, and we get to meet some dynamic characters that being the story to life. Each of these authors are favorites of mine when it comes to histfic and I absolutely loved the narrator as well. A lot of what these ⬇️
You may enjoy this if you can read another WWII story! This is on the Eastern Front- the Philippines.
The story is very good, the epilogue great, and so far the authors' notes are incredible!
Two of these authors are going to be at an upcoming book event in San Diego: #AdventuresByTheBooks #SuperBookIV
I‘m trying to read some of the authors‘ backlists before I go.

23 #1 I‘ve set my reading goal for the year at only 100. I‘m considering going back to school … maybe. If I do there will be a lot less time for pleasure reading. I feel like my 2022 reads were not great. For the most part. I‘m starting out strong with this one for 2023!
What these three women (military nurses) has to go through was unreal! This book gave the perspective of WW2 from the South Pacific. I found it interesting to hear the 3 different perspectives of the friends. Each perspective was written by a separate author. A big thank you to my bookclub, #ReadWithSharon, for selecting this book for the November 2022 read! I‘m looking forward to our discussion with the authors.
Review is up! Great book!

Three nurses find themselves in the middle of conflict in the Pacific theatre of WWII and eventually as POWs in the Philippines. I love Ariel Lawhon and I liked the setting here, but found this otherwise lackluster. The women were not different enough from one another and there‘s too much focus on romantic storylines.
