What Will Burn
What Will Burn | James Oswald
4 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
"The charred remains of an elderly woman are discovered in a burned-out game-keepers cottage, hidden away in woodland to the west of Edinburgh. Clearly no accidental fire, Detective Inspector Tony McLean suspects that neither is this simply a grim arson attack. There is far more to the victim than her humble surroundings might suggest, and something ritualistic to her horrific murder. Nor will it be the only case of death by fire that Tony and his team will be faced with. This is only the beginning, and with such evil clouding the air, Tony begins to wonder what else will burn . . ."--Publisher.

Solid story with great writing & I look forward to the next book.
The new chief constable was the part of the book that I didn't like (enough it bumped my rating down just a touch) & found myself trying to get through the parts they were in a little faster to get dealing them over with. I won't be sorry if we get yet another person in that position soon & am hoping we will be done with Mrs.Saifre also

DI McLean faces more nasty goings on in Edinburgh with a supernatural twist in this case witchcraft as an old woman is found burnt in her home + a justice for fathers grp leader seems mixed up in events. With a strange new superintendent Tony's life is never simple

batsy Take care and I hope you're feeling much improved soon! 2y

Centique I hope you‘re feeling better fast! It took me a long time to feel 100% so I just wanted to reassure you if it hangs around for a bit and gets you down. And also there are those antiviral drugs these days if you‘re really suffering. 💕 Best wishes! 2y
