Mother-to-be Emily Atkinson is sure she's being stalked. But without proof, will anyone trust her mother's intuition? The newest psychological thriller from the author of the New York Times bestseller The Midwife Murders. Emily Atkinson leads a complicated life in New York City. She's a successful marketing executive who lives in a luxury apartment and enjoys a glamorous existence until she lands in the hospital with a double diagnosis: she parties too much--and she's pregnant. Her nurse and new best friend, Betsey, helps Emily rediscover how much she loves morning runs in the park and quiet nights at home. But as a series of women in her wealthy social circles go missing, Emily's pregnancy becomes decidedly high-risk.

Bailedbailed

This was a slower Patterson coauthored novel. The main character Emily, you wanted to like but made continuous bad decisions. Unfortunately I DNF after about 200 pgs in. I couldn't wait for the other 200 🙈.

Mehso-so

This book was a little too slow paced for me and I didn't feel like it was written with his usually pacing. I was initially drawn to the premise of this book, which was unusual, a missing high risk pregnant woman and the frantic search to find her, but I found Emily to be quite unlikeable. After such slow pacing throughout the book the ending, felt a bit and like the reveal was hastily done to finish the book. It was an ok read. ⭐⭐
