Julian & Thea were likable but I can't say I rooted for them 100 %. The beginning was good but at some point I wasn't super invested.

I hate cliffhanger endings. This didn't work really well as an individual book.

I was intrigued by a side story. There was a strange group of people and I want to know what they want and who they are.

Ughhhh! I‘m so upset. I was about 20% in and was going to bail (I wasn‘t feeling the story). And then I was like, oh I‘ll just keep going because I want my HEA. WELL! This book does not end in a HEA! But I don‘t think I care enough to read the next book in the series. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I‘m conflicted.

This is the first book in the series. A cross between the Twilight series and 50 Shades of Grey. I really liked the world building and how vampires are portrayed. Also liked the main characters, especially Julian. He is a vampire curmudgeon. So funny at times. 4⭐️

I wanted to like this more than I did. Set in Paris was probably the thing that kept me coming back. And it seemed to end abruptly which I guess that was the authors way of ending in a cliffhanger. But to be honest I‘m not interested to continue reading the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
