Crimes Against Magic | Steve McHugh

Last year I accidentally picked up [Magic Reborn] which I enjoyed but noted all the background I didn't know about. So I returned to -re-read this book and to read the rest of the first series.

I really enjoyed the main characters and the plot was convoluted enough for me to enjoy. World building is intriguing as it involves Avalon and Arthur. Looking forward to learning more about both of those.

This is easily one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series. I love how the Arthur lore is woven into this story. It's a great world!
And it's very handy that all the audiobooks are free with Kindle Unlimited: https://lovelyaudiobooks.info/how-to-listen-to-audiobooks-with-kindle-unlimited/

I first listened Steve McHugh‘s Sorcery Reborn, the first book in the Rebellion series, but realized Nate Garrett‘s story started with this series. So I decided to start at the beginning of Nate‘s story.

I really enjoyed this story. It‘s a fast-paced story, has an incredible world, and good character development.

But I will say I like the narrator (Simon Mattacks) in the Rebellion series better than this narrator (James Langton).

Well, I got this book free a LONG time ago and now I‘m sad I didn‘t read it sooner! It was a good book, even though it was a little predictable. I liked the characters, and so soon after reading the Song of Achilles, enjoyed the references I got. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Urban Fantasy, and fans of the Iron Druid Chronicles. 4/5

Fast paced, funny, full of supes & surprises.. With quite a large helping of mayhem! The main character Nate is as hilarious as he is violent (yep, this one is pretty heavy with stuffs blowing up), and he kept me giggling throughout! It actually intertwines Arthurian legend as the fantasy element - which gives it triple points from me! Possibly one of the best in the 'bad arse blokes of Urban Fantasy' category.. Really fun, really enjoyable! \m/
