This is my second Jeneva Rose novel, and I will definitely be reading more. One of Us is Dead is reminiscent of Liane Moriarty's Big Little Lies. The narrative POV switches between several of the characters throughout, in the events leading up to, and after, a crime. These ladies, and the men in their lives, are truly something out of a deep south soap opera, with plenty of manipulation, backstabbing, and eventually murder. Great read.
I enjoyed this book but found it lacked lustre for a thriller or suspense. The book takes place through 5 perspectives, we know one of the is dead but not who or why. The end was pretty good but I wish it was that exciting throughout 📖 Side note, everytime I look at the cover I think she‘s cutting her dress strap 😂
I liked the storyline and the ending but I had a real hard time with several characters. I hated most of them. Not even the kind that I love to hate. I understand that was the point but it was difficult for me. ⭐️⭐️
It was good. I think having as many women characters that has similar horrible personalities made it a little hard initially to understand who is who. But also maybe because I listen while wandering casinos 🎰
Had this on Audible. It‘s for “walking around” vacation listen :)
A perfect beach or light hearted read to devour quickly. A look into the elite ladies of Buckhead‘s wealthiest women and all of the drama and scandal that entails. Fun characters, short chapters and a juicy plot that involves revenge made this delightful. Guilty pleasure TV in the form of a book!
What a fun read! Loved the characters, loved the storyline and loved the plot twist ending!
These women 🤦🏼♀️. A drama filled book about rich women with nothing better to do than cause drama and behave like toddlers. The amount of time these women spend in that salon is mind boggling. The book was 95% set in that salon. The end came fast, but I was done with these women. Book #7 in 2023
This was enjoyable.
Nothing earth shattering, but an addictive story of gossipy women who will stop at nothing to uphold their social standing in prestigious Buckhead. Salon visits, book club, soirées, cheating, blackmail, murder. The usual.

These past few days I‘ve been super busy with work, so I‘ll have to add my week 2 points to week 3s total. This is everything I read in week 2. Lots of Halloween childrens books, and a handful of cozies. The tagged was my favourite of the week 🖤

Thanks for hosting @aperfectmjk , and for your picks @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm ! I am having such a blast!
While I can't in good conscious recommend this book, because it is 100% pure junk food in novel form, if you are hankering for this particular flavor of trash, you could do worse. In other words, if a season of Real Housewives presented as a decently twisty thriller (with an actual murder) is what you're craving, this might just do the trick!
Playing catch up...
This is a rich-women, drama-filled, thriller, that leaves you guessing on who died, and who the killer is, until the very end. Everyone is a suspect. I just couldn't put it down. And a very good twist at the very end!
Finding it difficult to put this down! Gonna be a quick one for me 🤓
A very good book! LOL I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
A popcorn thriller to try to cure my awful reading slump.
4 stars
This one was fun! At least as much as a book with murder can be. I HATED Olivia, I hope we weren't supposed to be sympathetic! But I liked the rest of the female characters. The men were mostly trash. I would have liked more character development on the men.
This was a guilty pleasure read. I loved the drama and snark of these women spilling tea in the Glow salon. Jenny is the owner & the only good girl. She replies on the women for business but tries to exist on the fringe of their group. While not life changing, this book was fun & a light-hearted thriller, if such a thing exists. The Real Housewives mixed with Mean Girls. ⭐⭐⭐💫
My final book to fill my May #BookSpinBingoBoard @TheAromaofBooks
I did have 5 bails but then I added a book for each book I bailed on 😉
May has probably been my BEST READING Month in 2022 - lots of these were 4 & 5 star reads 😍

If I didn‘t love the characters, then at least I could love to hate them. There was one in particular who really stirred the pot. I really liked how the author didn‘t reveal who was dead until the end…it really had me invested throughout the book trying to guess not only the who-it-was but also the who-done-it. This made for an ending that didn‘t disappoint.

All the stars! I rarely read a book in one sitting, but I could't put this book down! (Most of the time it was because I couldn't wait to see what Olivia would actually say or think next 😆!) My advice is to go in blind and enjoy the wild ride. I can't even form a proper review for this one just yet. If you like psychological thrillers, The Real Housewives, short but exciting chapters, and multiple points of view, read this book!!!!!
This mystery managed to surprise me! Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#one-of-us-is-dead
