I desperately wanted to devour Sáenz's prose as keenly as I did while reading his first novel, but I find myself terribly disappointed with the sequel. The repetitiveness of the narrative, two-dimensional (dare I say boring?) characters made for a tedious reading experience, and I found myself losing interest in the worldly-beyond-years, philosophical leads. Their voices were captivating at the beginning, but lacklustre and angsty in the end.
