I've been meaning to do this for a while now with my reads, especially the ones that instantly make me think of #anime, this book was one of them!

Oh! I didn't know this was an #lgbtq title! Or maybe I did when I requested it xD I ended up really enjoying certain parts of this book, like Karis being #ace, Alex's growth (tho it was sad too), Karis's choices, the realness of consequences, and so much more :D that said, sometimes the pacing felt a bit meh for me. That's probably why I was like HMMM what to rate it?? I ended up giving it a 3.75 SG and 4 GRs #fantasy #pirates #friendship #family
I haven‘t DNFed a book in a long time, but today I broke my streak. I was initially intrigued by the idea of automatons and a Rome-like setting but the story itself was really boring and the characters were plain. I tried to read more, but I only made it 1/3 of the way through before calling it quits.
Kind of hard to see on my bingo board but I finished my #bookspin for February. I feel like a slump is coming on and I‘m trying to fight it. I think that‘s why I gave this a so so. It sounded so intriguing but I just couldn‘t get into it.
Also I did get Covid again. Even vaccinated and always wearing my mask I still was exposed. Not as bad as my first time but I wasn‘t in a reading mood. Just rest & YouTube. I hope my Litsy people are doing well!
I enjoyed this book more than I thought based on the poor reviews. I love the automaton /pirate setting. I think what this book struggled with was character development. The author put so much focus on character identities and acceptance that no one had any flaws or misunderstandings. I found it made for rather boring characters and a lack of conflict. Good concept though.
Very eye catching cover. I don‘t think I‘d pick this up normally but I‘m still going to try it!
I‘m trying to reacquaint myself with my TBR while on a book buying ban for the month.

I started the tagged book yesterday, so my goal for the #MarvelousMarch readathon is to read at least three of the book crate/special editions I need to catch up on. Hopefully I can get through the whole stack, but who knows what the week will bring!
