This book started as a great idea. Studying the mothers of Martin Luther King, Jr., James Baldwin, and Malcolm X is a great idea. Behind every great man is a great woman, right? However, I think Tubbs took on more than she could deliver. A pet peeve was that she referred to each woman only by their first name. I spent 3/4s of the audiobook trying to remember which mother she was referring to. 🤦🏻♀️ I learned a few things but knew a lot already.
