Another Poirot short story collection. The titular story was an intriguing murder mystery with some entertaining assistance from George, Poirot's capable valet.

Enjoyed this one, too. The title story is longer, then there‘s 8 short stories, all with Poirot. This is listed near the end of Poirot books, but GR labels it as 5.5 in the series. Most of the stories feature Hastings, which was great after so many without him.

Nine stories featuring Hercule Poirot. Many have been dramatized with David Suchet in the title role, so I heard them in his voice (and knew some of the solutions.) A fun read for a winter‘s night. #authoramonth2020 @Soubhiville

The book on the right contains 9 Hercule Poirot shorts, including the story, “The Plymouth Express” which is the basis for the novel on the left.

The shorts feature Captain Hastings (who has disappeared from the HP series by book #3 IIRC) and, no racist remarks (though quite a few classist ones) - the opposite of “Blue Train.”

As with most SS collections, some stories are better than others but overall a solid, entertaining pick.

So, right in the middle of my short story, there‘s an editorial note! Way to take me out of the story!

Also, since this particular story is the forerunner of the previously published ‘The Mystery of the Blue Train‘, I‘m betting my guess will be right! 😂

Continuing with my Agatha Christie reading - to get the last one out of my head - early Poirot and Hastings stories. Good and quick read, so interesting how she uses similar plots in some of her novels.

Finished up these short stories (awesome as usual) and spending a nice evening with my original kitty. Melvin is 15 and diabetic and went to the vet today, who said his weight loss is reversing his diabetes! We may get to stop treating him soon altogether! 😻

Literaryunicorn Hooray for healthy kitties!! 😻👏 8y
