Assim falou Zaratustra
Assim falou Zaratustra | Friedrich Nietzsche
I went to the recycling centre this morning. Always worth looking in the wheelie bin of books to see if someone is throwing away a gem. I gazed into this last bin in the line…and the bin gazed also into me!

Bookwomble "And if you contend against dustbins, beware that you do not yourself become a dustbin!" I used to have that edition, but it's long since gone - never read it ? Did you liberate it? 3mo
The_Book_Ninja @Bookwomble No…as I shuffle towards the great library in the sky, I want to spend my remaining days reading for enjoyment🤣 3mo
Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja Ah, but maybe you should have taken that Vintage copy of Mervyn Peak's Gormenghast trilogy to read later this year 🧐 I would have left the Nietzsche (he's had his chance with me), but I'd have taken the copy of Six Yuan Plays at the back there. Somebody's dumping some good shit in that bin! 3mo

The_Book_Ninja @Bookwomble there were 5 bins, filled to the top…I was overwhelmed ☺️ 3mo
Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja I'd be turning up with a shopping trolley! 😄 3mo
The_Book_Ninja @Bookwomble there‘s a lot of crap in there and you have to move fast, they don‘t like salvaging in this centre..😳 I don‘t know if they‘re all like that. The Gormenghast had a badly creased cover. I don‘t mind a old, yellowing book but I can‘t be dealing with creased covers 3mo
Bookwomble Please ignore me - I don't always know when a joke's stopped being funny 🙃 3mo
The_Book_Ninja @Bookwomble Ignore my Litsy twin! 🤣Don‘t worry..I‘ll assume it‘s all jokes unless you use an angry emoji😡 3mo

Picture description: A drawing of philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche pushing an old-fashioned looking vacuum cleaner across the floor, one hand rather nonchalantly in his pocket. In a speech bubble, he is thinking, "God I hate this thing". Below the drawing is the handwritten text, "Nietzsche abhors a vacuum".

Once people believed in prophets and astrologers: and therefore people believed: 'Everything is fate: you shall, for you must!'
Then again people mistrusted prophets and astrologers: therefore people believed: 'Everything is freedom : you can, for you will'

We‘ve been reading Nietzsche and that‘s the Cecil Summary. But does using the phrase “basic bitch” make us basic at this point? Or did we not get the gist of this book? #catsoflitsy #philosophy

Cecil is practicing his wise, old philosopher look as we listen to Zarathustra.

My husband read this book aloud to me. I'm not sure if this is the reason I loved the book so much or if I actually loved it. I love when that man reads to me. 😍 #husbandsoflitsy #whentwobookloversgetmarried
