When your husband's truck gets a nail in one of the tires, you make an impromptu stop at a shop, get to enjoy your coffee, and catch up on the book you've been reading on and off for the past YEAR 😁😁😁

Out in the sunshine, enjoying a quick 15-minute break before going back inside and getting to the beautiful business of ordering books for a library 😊
The short stories and poems in this book have provided both a glimpse into people's lives during the pandemic and been a strange source of comfort... a reminder that we're never alone in our experiences.
Hoping all of you Littens are continuing to stay healthy and safe 💜

"That all that is wonderful in this world is frighteningly temporary and so when abundance of any kind comes, we must celebrate it..." - Andre Dubus III
From the tagged anthology, a collection of essays, poems, and interviews written by a wide array of authors who, through the sale of this book, will be donating their share to The Book Industry Charitable Foundation.
A very appropriate quote for a very special 2nd dose day ?

A collection of essays and poems about life during the COVID-19 pandemic. As with most collections, there were some I loved and really enjoyed, and some I did not “get.” But overall, it‘s a lovely reminder of how good humankind can be in the face of adversity.
#bookspinbingo - so close to a second bingo!
#pop21 - book with an oxymoron in the title
One more square on #bookspinbingo - a few more in progress right now. To be honest I‘m not being too strategic other than I piled all of them next to my reading chair and will keep plugging through the stack as the fancy strikes.
Thank you Netgalley - all reviews are my own though I was provided with a free ARC for my review. Ok first of all - good cause - buy it and help support independent booksellers. Second - read it and begin processing pandemic life. Third- prepare to expand your TBR list as you become familiar with new to you authors.
Quote from a piece by Devi Laskar. I‘m slowly making my way through the collection - it benefits booksellers and also is a good way to process the pandemic so far. Halfway through. This is an arc but I think I‘ll donate to the cause as a thank you for being able to read it.
Haupt brings together more than 90 writers to remind us that as we go through this pandemic, none of us are going through it alone. Five sections covering grief, comfort, grace, love, and possibilities by a diverse group of authors such as Kwame Alexander, Dani Shapiro, Garth Stein, Nikki Giovanni, Jean Kwok, Jamie Ford, and Jenna Blum. Hard to describe but there are essays, poems, and self reflections. Reminders of who we are, and who we can be.
Thought I would try to visualize what all I‘ve got in progress. The top half are things I‘ve been more recently working on - bottom half have been slumbering for a bit. Pretty sure I‘ll finish Untamed, Alone Together, and Vanishing Half this week if I really concentrate. Bookclub was fine - not my best since I have only read 16 pages.
I visited Page158 books in Wake Forest today for Independent bookstore day. So fun!
I visited one of our Independent Book Stores today for #bookstoreday and had a wonderful time! Did you visit or buy any of the Independent bookstore exclusive items? #shoplocal
A comforting collection of essays to remind us all that we‘re not alone even while we are sheltering in place during the pandemic. The short bites also play to my current COVID attention span. And, a star studded cast of authors. #ARC #Netgalley
