It's 17 below zero this morning, hot coffee and my #readharder choice for prompt #18 a comic not published by marvel, D.C. or image. Kind of ended on a cliff hanger on to volume 2

Bookseller described it to me as, "this girl wakes up dead...".

Mehso-so

I'm house/cat sitting for a family friend, and this giant omnibus was staring at me from one of the (numerous!) bookshelves.
The story takes its time to build and develop complex characters, but leaves a couple arcs unresolved.
In a small town, a woman is strangled-then she wakes up in a shallow grave with no memory of her death. As she and her friends try to figure out why this dead girl is walking, disturbing, biblical events start happening.

Actually, the black omnibus edition. It might not photograph well. "Death is not the worst thing that can happen to you." Plato
