An Autobiography, Or, The Story of My Experiments with Truth
An Autobiography, Or, The Story of My Experiments with Truth | Mahatma Gandhi
Product Dimensions: 7 x 4.7 x 0.8 inches, wt: 1 Lb. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Western India in 1869. He was educated in London and later travelled to South Africa, where he experienced racism and took up the rights of Indians, instituting his first campaign of passive resistance. In 1915 he returned to British-controlled India, bringing to a country in the throes of independence his commitment to non-violent change, and his belief always in the power of truth. Under Gandhi's lead, millions of protesters would engage in mass campaigns of civil disobedience, seeking change through ahimsa or non-violence. For Gandhi, the long path towards Indian independence would lead to imprisonment and hardship, yet he never once forgot the principles of truth and non-violence so dear to him. Written in the 1920s, Gandhi's autobiography tells of his struggles and his inspirations; a powerful and enduring statement of an extraordinary life.

“An eye for an eye will only end up making the whole world blind.”

A #freedomfighter and spiritual leader, Mahatma Gandhi played an active and important role in India‘s independence, and was respected over for his ‘nonviolent philosophy of passive resistance‘.
In this autobiography, he gives an honest account of his early life and ideologies.

Albert Einstein‘s famous words on Gandhi: ‘Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth‘ This is the duty of Indians to spread the Gandhian Principles and Gandhi to the globe. #Gandhijayanti #Einsteinchallenge.

@RealLifeReading

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ this autobiography was my best nonfiction read in 2015, a life so simple but with a huge impact on the world.. i'm looking for a good italian edition, i'd like to have a phisical copy on my shelves!

JoeStalksBeck I've heard so much about him being racist . Is it true? 8y
La_Cori @GoodallBookHaul i've never heard such thing, and reading the book I didn't have that impression.. When he was in South Africa (and really young, in his early twenties) he campaigned for the rights of indian people, maybe he was accused of being racist for not fighting for colored people's too.. 8y

The seeker after truth should be humbler than the dust. The world crushes the dust under its feet, but the seeker after truth should so humble himself that even the dust could crush him. Only then, and not till then, will he have a glimpse of truth.
